Luke Bryan is latest guest on the Spout podcast and on this week’s episode, he discussed his new docuseries, the surprising way he spent his quarantine and so much more!
Luke shared how he’d been spending his quarantine and he revealed that in addition to writing new music and hanging out with his family, he picked up a surprising hobby – flying helicopters!
“I would fly over to my duck hunting lease over around the Mississippi River,” he said, adding that he had taken up the hobby after meeting a retired Apache pilot. “So I would fly and then I was like, hey, you know, I’m never going to really like be a helicopter pilot by myself, you know, but while I was up there, and, you know, I put 50 or 60 hours in flying.”
The “Play It Again” singer also opened up about the five part documentary about his life, Luke Bryan: My Dirt Road Diary, and shared what fans could expect from the Amazon series.
“I feel like it’s something people need to see. I mean, scary is not the term, you know. I just feel like it’s just the truth and it’s just my life and I think whether you know who I am or not as a viewer, I think people will be able to watch this and go, ‘Wow, you know, this guy kind of navigated quite a few challenges,’” he said.
“I feel like if we can inspire people to navigate their own challenges and try to come out on the other end that’ll be an amazing success,” he added.
Luke went on to share some gift ideas he had for his fellow American Idol judge Katy Perry and pals Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, telling host Bru that he was planning on getting Katy‘s daughter Daisy a BB gun.
He joked that his wedding gift for Gwen would be a taser, so she could “tase Blake and put him into bed.”
