Jodie Comer Is Singing Mariah Carey's 'Fantasy' in 'Free Guy'!

Jodie Comer uses a giant umbrella to keep dry from the rain while arriving at the premiere of her new movie, Free Guy, held at Cineworld Leicester Square on Monday (August 9) in London, England.

The 28-year-old actress posed for pictures on the red carpet just before the rain started and actually ran to find a covering to keep dry.

Jodie stars in the movie as Millie, opposite Ryan Reynolds‘s Guy, a bank teller called who realizes he is a background character in an open world video game called Free City that will soon go offline.

In a recent interview with press, Ryan and director Shawn Levy reveal that it’s actually Jodie singing Mariah Carey‘s “Fantasy” in the movie.

“Early on when we were working on the script, Ryan’s like, ‘You know what I think should be the anthem of this entire movie and marketing campaign’, and he suggested this song by Mariah,” Shawn explained. “Little did we know that by the third act of the movie, we’d have a cover of that song by our very own Jodie Comer in the movie.”

Ryan explained that “in the earliest draft, we’d written in The Outfield’s ‘Your Love’, and it ended up not fitting right. Then Mariah Carey’s ‘Fantasy’ came like a lightning bolt. It’s like an engine for so much of the movie, it’s really fantastic.”

Free Guy opens in theaters on August 13.
