Cole Sprouse Says The 'Riverdale' Cast Is Ready To Move On

Cole Sprouse is opening up about acting and his hit CW show Riverdale.

In a new interview with GQ Hype, the 29-year-old actor revealed that he wasn’t even going to audition for the series at first.

Find out what he said inside…

Cole shared that he was going to enroll in grad school, but his agent begged him to start auditioning for film and TV, thus him then landing the role of Jughead Jones on Riverdale.

“The arts are a whirlpool man,” he told GQ. “If you need them, they suck you in.”

The show has been a hit amongst fans, it’s currently in it’s sixth season, and it was just renewed for a seventh.

Even with that, Cole adds that the cast is ready to “wrap it up with a bow” and move on.

“I’m not a creative force behind [Riverdale]. I actually have no creative control,” he adds. “We show up, receive the scripts often the day of, and we’re asked to shoot.”

He even said that he was approached to direct an episode, but he turned it down, “knowing whatever vision he had would be immediately sucked into the network’s needs.”

Cole‘s comments come just a few months after his co-star Lili Reinhart also said that they were hoping for a seventh season, but that would likely be their last one.

Also during the interview, Cole commented on his public split from Lili, and how it affects his current relationship with Ari Fournier. See what he said on JustJared.com
