A photoshopped Instagram Madonna shared with her fans back in 2015 is getting newfound attention after the original Instagrammer pointed out the image on her TikTok account.
Amelia Goldie shared a side-by-side of the two images from a magazine where Madonna’s head had been photoshopped onto the picture she originally posted.
The image is of Amelia, wearing a Joy Division shirt, with a houndstooth-pattern skirt and black platform heels.
At the time, Madonna reposted the image to her feed, and captioned it “I look Kewl … ❤️ #rebelheart.”
Amelia told Buzzfeed that the thought it was a joke at first, and “then [I] realized it wasn’t, because it was [posted on] her official account” and she “tried to reach out via Instagram to [Madonna's] team twice, to no response.
She added that she is “flattered, but of course that I wish I was credited!…I think if you’re going to play somebody else’s body off as your own, they deserve to be mentioned. But no hard feelings!”
Amelia first commented on the photo by reposted it to her own Instagram in 2015 as well, calling it the “weirdest moment” of her life.
She also mentioned it again, when the anniversary of Madonna posting it came around.
