Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have finally moved forward with the divorce that has been talked about for months and a source explained why it will be “fairly straightforward.”
An insider told Deadline, “This will be a fairly straightforward and hopefully quick process.”
Kim and Kanye are seeking joint custody of their children and a “strongly defined prenup” was already in place, so this will help move things along quickly.
Another source told People that the divorce is amicable, though it’s a “somber day” for Kanye.
“It’s as amicable as possible, but amicable doesn’t mean joyful or ideal,” the source said. “It just means that they’re being adults about the whole thing… Kanye is seeing counselors and advisors to help him through this spot. It’s rough for him, and he isn’t happy, but he’s resigned to reality.”
“He knew it was coming, but that doesn’t make it any easier,” the source added. “This is a somber day for him.”
