Jussie Smollett has been arrested and is in police custody.
The 36-year-old Empire actor faces criminal charges for allegedly filing a false police report and for disorderly conduct.
“Jussie [Smollett] is under arrest and in custody of detectives. At 9am at #ChicagoPolice Headquarters, Supt Eddie Johnson, Commander of Area Central Detectives Edward Wodnicki will brief reporters on the investigation prior to the defendants appearance in court,” the Chicago Police tweeted early in the morning on Thursday (February 21).
If you don’t know, police allegedly believe Jussie paid two brothers to stage the crime where he was allegedly attacked. We’ll learn more in just about an hour during the press briefing.
