Gwyneth Paltrow has filed a countersuit against the Utah man that claimed she crashed into him while skiing back in 2016.
The 46-year-old actress and goop founder filed a counter-lawsuit against Terry Sanderson on Wednesday afternoon (February 20) in which she claimed he “took her out from behind” while she was skiing downhill, according to court documents obtained by People.
In her suit, Gwyneth claims she was skiing with her family in Deer Valley, Utah when Sanderson “plowed into her back” causing her to sustain a full “body blow” leaving her “shaken.”
Last month, Sanderson sued Gwyneth claiming she was skiing “out of control” and hit him causing “permanent traumatic brain injury,” four broken ribs, pain, suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, emotional distress and disfigurement. He is seeking damages in excess of $3.1 million.
Gwyneth filed the countersuit, calling his lawsuit “an attempt to exploit her celebrity and wealth.”
“She did not knock him down. He knocked her down. He was not knocked out. Ms. Paltrow was skiing carefully,” Gwyneth‘s lawyer writes in the lawsuit. “She skied slowly to stay behind her children, who were receiving skiing instruction slightly further down the mountain.”
