A shooter opened fire at the Tree of Life Synagogue in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday (October 27), killing several and wounding three police officers, the AP reports.
The suspect was in custody of the police by noon ET.
“We must all pray and hope for no more loss of life,” Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf said. “But we have been saying ‘this one is too many’ for far too long. Dangerous weapons are putting our citizens in harm’s way.”
Since the terrible events of today, celebrities have been taking to Twitter to offer condolences and thoughts on gun control.
Our thoughts are with those affected by this horrific tragedy.
My thoughts are back home today with the people of Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh.

Trump kept saying in his chat with reporters that if there was an armed guard inside the synagogue that the “numbers” would have been a lot lower . The fact is if there was no guns at all , there wouldn’t have been a shooter in the first place. Get a grip

This week:
The President called himself a nationalist.
A guy shot at black people & said “white people don’t shoot white people.”
A guy known for spewing anti-black, anti-gay, anti-Jewish rhetoric sent 14 bombs.
A guy shot up a synagogue while saying “All Jews must die.”

It’s too bad there wasn’t another guy with a gun in there waiting for the guy with the gun to attack.
So fucking dumb.— Josh Hopkins (@MrJoshHopkins) October 27, 2018

the guns are the long arm of this racist, sexist, anti-Semitic, anti-LGBT administration. the laws & judges being put in place are the longest arm. vote. them. out.

Asked about gun control being a factor – our President suggests if there were guns inside it would have probably been “a different outcome”. It’s the synagogues fault. Right. Maybe if this asshole didn’t have access to an AR-15 it would have been a different outcome.

Pittsburgh shooter is reported to have used an AR-15, the preferred weapon of choice for most mass shooters in America (Sandy Hook, Vegas etc) because they kill lots of people very fast.
This is what they look like..
I ask again: why the f*ck are these legal for civilians? pic.twitter.com/5ycMv464ly— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) October 27, 2018
White bigots are continuing to murder minorities in the United States and being civilly arrested. I will never shut up about what’s going on until everyone starts to truly realize what kind of time we’re living in again and DOES something about it. #PittsburghSynagogue

How exactly can firearms be kept out of the hands of the undiagnosed mentally ill?
